9 Days Tanzania Cultural Tours

Trip Highlights: This tour will take to Cultural Villages for walking and trekking, you will be able to walk closer to game animals and birds. You will also learn different way of life, the places to experience the productive local communities and enjoy the test of local food.

Day 1: Arrival – Longido

You will be met at Namanga Border by our driver guide who will escort you to the waiting vehicle and transfer you to the Campsite in Longido for the rest of the day.

Day 2: Longido

After breakfast, you make a “birdwalk” on the Maasai plains from the town of Longido to the maasai bomas of Ol Tepesi. The maasai guides will help you to spot many colourful birds and also show you trees and plants that they use for making food and medicines. At Ol Tepesi , which is the maasai word for acacia tree, the guides will invite you to the maasai boma and show their traditional way of life. Since it is known that the cultural tourism sponsored the cattle dip and is now investing in the primary school, you always get a warm welcome. Afternoon walk with a guide in the scattered bush for a look of Gerenuk, lesser kudu, klipspringer, giraffe, zebra, buffalo, gazelles, jackals and mongoose, the back in Longido the guide will explain to you all the things you always wanted to know about Maasai culture

Day 3:  Mount Longido Climb

– After breakfast at 0700hrs then start hiking on Mount Longido 2629 meters. Ascend with a guide through dense natural forest where in 3 hours you will arrive at dawa ya supu (medicine soup viewpoint). Proceed following trails created by buffalos, the Maasai warriors will five signals to alert buffaloes that may be on the trails. 2 hours later arrive at the peak and view all Northern Tanzania Mountains, after all exploration descend to the camp for late lunch then get in the vehicle and drive back to Arusha for dinner and overnight in the hotel or campsite.

Day 4: ILKUROT Village

Its located 20km west of Arusha city along Nairobi road. Here you will have trekking experience of Ngorora Hill, thereafter visit Maasai Boma to have true experience of African Culture on general Maasai life, Maasai dancing group and visit Maasai colourful market.

Day 5: Arusha – Ilkiding’a

– In the morning at 0830hrs after breakfast drive 8km to Ilkidinga at Sembeos household where the tour starts. Walk through the forest reserve across Ngarenaro River climb Leleto hill where you can view the whole of Arusha Town Maasai steppe and its volcanoes. After picnic lunch visit the Maasai worshiping center located under a BIG fig tree, also visit Maasai herbalist Craftsmen and walk to the waterfalls. Later evening drive back to Arusha

Day 6: MTO WA MBU Village

Situated adjacent to Lake Manyara National Park. In Mto Wa Mbu is the only point in Africa where 4 languages meet; the Nilotes, Cush*tes, Bantu and Hamites a unique cultural feature in the World. A point in Tanzania where anthropology is most diverse. Visit to Maasai boma, dancing, market, schools and community project will be offered. Maasai village visit to foster the true experience of most complex cultural experience in Africa is a gift will be hard to forget in your entire life. Hike the rift valley wall and view the Lake Manyara.

Day 7: Lake Eyasi

After breakfast drive to Lake Eyasi for Bushman Adventures with the Picnic Lunch; visiting Hadzabe and Datoga tribes, experience their cultures participating in their cultural activities.

Day 8: Lake Eyasi

After early morning breakfast departs for Hunting Mission with the Hadzabe in learning how do they hunt and collect honey with the Picnic lunch.

After brekfats drive to Arusha to connect your flight back home.
